Protection from deportation and the right to work in the U.S. for nationals of designated countries — guided by an attorney who tracks the changes so you don't miss a deadline.
Temporary Protected Status lets people from countries facing unsafe conditions stay and work in the United States for as long as their country is designated. If you may qualify, the details and deadlines matter — and they change often.
TPS is a temporary immigration status the U.S. government grants to nationals of certain countries experiencing armed conflict, a natural disaster, or other extraordinary conditions that make safe return difficult. While your country is designated, TPS protects you from deportation and lets you apply for a work permit. It is temporary, and on its own it does not lead to a green card — but it can be an important protection while it lasts, and TPS holders who separately qualify for another path (such as a family petition) may still pursue it.
Eligibility depends on your specific country's designation, but in general you may qualify if you:
You cannot be deported based solely on your immigration status while your TPS is valid.
You can apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) to work legally in the U.S.
In some cases you may request advance parole to travel abroad and return.
While TPS itself is temporary, we can look at whether another, longer-term path fits your situation.
We confirm whether you're eligible, prepare and file your initial registration or re-registration on time, handle your work-permit and any travel requests, and keep watch on your country's extension and deadline changes so nothing slips.
